A World of Possibilities!

Have you ever been late to class, work, a dentist appointment, or other important happening in your life? What is the first thing you need under those circumstances? Correct you are, a world class excuse! As people are going to want answers when you rush into that class or meeting thirty minutes late! What happened?? Where were you?! Not to worry, August has some insights for you from his observations on the subtle art of excuse making (strictly for comedy purposes only, haha). Kids, do not try these at home! haha.

This is episode 2 of the Adventures of August Winter animated series. This gives you the chance to hear from August directly and ask him questions and join the discussion. Comments are welcomed and let him know what you think of the format. He’s new to the weblog scene, so be kind, haha. Especially when a dorm room serves as your production studio, haha. New entry in the comic coming this Friday, so check back for that! Peace!

This site is always getting better, I like the animated action. You’ve already got a wealth of clips from past episodes to draw on. The live action seems like it might allow for more comedic timing. I must have missed the omelette episode referenced here, which one was that?

I was just thinking of how your weekly comic is analogous to weight lifting reps, but you’re probably already aware of that parallel. As for excuses, my excuse to myself for the last 8 months has been, sorry I’m late to work but I was here for 2 1/2 hours of unpaid overtime last night! Sometimes I wish I was an artist!

Haha, thanks Aaron! The cumulative affect of weeks of comics is definitely starting to add up! Can see a more defined look and feel for the comic. Versus where it was on day one and the animated series is a big part of the future! The omelette reference is actually not from the comic, but rather a nod to one of my friends who gave me a multi page written document on how to make the perfect omelette, it was so awesome! To this day I break it out everytime I want to craft one, haha.

Your go to excuse is as solid as I’ve heard, so much so that it should be written into your work contract in the future! As clearly you are going above and beyond the call of duty, haha. I say the same line to myself when I need to get work done in the AM, haha. “I was up late working on the comic self, what do you want from me?!” haha. Hopefully your boss is as understanding!

Great post, thanks man! Here’s to many more reps to come!

I just love these animations they are so much fun! I especially enjoyed and appreciated the subject matter of this one since it is so relevant to everyone’s lives haha. I am never late personally so I have no good excuses!! haha. But if I *were* to need one, having a child always comes in handy for that purpose! I also have a dog, so I could be like “yeah the dog is throwing up..” or something along those lines haha. Of course traffic is always very heavy and accidents in the city abound…so *if* I needed an excuse I’m sure I could come up with one :) . I think sometimes people are having so much fun and they just lose tack of time somehow, then oops! they are late! :)

I really liked looking through and remembering all the previous comics as they were flashing on the screen, pretty sure I remember all of them. I just want to know what Wooly is and where he is going to turn up haha. I looked in my bed this morning but thankfully did not find him!

Well here’s to hoping no one gets “Busted” for being late for work or otherwise today:) Great job, these animations are always a treat for the senses. Hey….I was looking at this animation for so long and now I’m LATE!!!!! :)

Why thank you! I too really like the animations as like you mentioned I can reference all the past events and add in little nods here and there :) In the future I want to make them even more animated with a lot more motion. You’ve been following the comic from the beginning and have seen every edition so you’ll be able to get the most out of it! I’ll have to get some other characters to make cameos in the animated series sometime as well.

Having topical uh, topics seemed the way to go from the beginning and the best excuses for being late came to me when I probably was on my way (late) to something! Naturally of course you would never be late, but it was nice of you to offer up some hypothetical advice just the same :) Children and pets are world class excuses for being late and universally identifiable as lets face it, they have a TON of practice making people late throughout the the records of human history, haha. I’m sure in caveman days a lot of people missed the hunt because they had to take care of their kids, haha.

Wooly has yet to reveal his/herself and it may or may not be in the next comic! Can’t say :) Though I’d also say the outlook is favorable at this current time. Haha, hope you weren’t too late after posting and at least if you were you had some good options to work with for reasons!

      Thanks for posting!!

Haha, I noticed that too, same thing happens when I post the comic entries. I must have left it set in a European time zone! Will have to update that at some point. Odd to think that it is always breakfast time somewhere in the world or while I’m sound asleep, there are millions/billions of people awake and out and about enjoying their days. Timezones, everywhere you want to be!
