SEPTEMBER 2025 – Nature may rain on your parade, but that doesn’t mean you have to let it get you down. I’d like to think I’m pretty decent at discovering the silver lining of a situation if given the chance and rainy days build resilience and ultimately help you grow. Let your rainy days fill your creative well, as countless artists and writers throughout history have done. These are the experiences that are going to let you connect with the undercurrent of humanity. So much great art is about loss, pain, sorrow, disasters, missed opportunities, and tragedies. The cliche of the tortured artist is born from a very real phenomenon.

Weather the storm and you’ll come out the other side that much stronger, wiser (hopefully), and with a tale to tell! Myself, I probably need a new umbrella as there has been some unpredictable downpours lately, haha. But we survive, we build, and we overcome. Most of my creative efforts of late have been at the office, so nothing exciting to share. Pivoting my appreciation for endless summer days to crisp autumn ones and the occasional tennis match or trail run.
Current read is ‘Children of Dune’ by Frank Herbert and I’m enjoying the return to Arrakis after having read the first two books and seen the recent film adaptation of the first novel. Curious where the story goes as I haven’t been made aware of any spoilers. Enjoying it so far!
Big fan of reading sci-fi books, but not sure if I could write one. Still have the ideas sketched out for one, just not sold that it is what I should be working on… I can see why most authors don’t jump genres, as it isn’t easy!
